Józef Romasz

Józef Romasz – born in 1958, in Olecko. Camera operator, screenwriter, director and documentary film producer. He graduated the Direction of Photography and Television Production Department at the Leon Schiller National Higher School of Film, Television and Theatre in Łódź.

As a camera operator, he has realised few dozens of documentaries (including Był sobie Gdańsk; Komeda. A soundtrack for a life; Polin. Okruchy pamięci; Pod skrzydłami motyla; Żywot chruścika), he has also cooperated in the production of feature films (such as Harnasie; Słoneczny zegar; Miasto prywatne; Tulpan).

A substantial part of his artistic output are authorial documentaries, including: Przystanek dla bocianów; Dom Marka; Krymskie źródło; Człowiek, który nie zaznał wielkiego świata; Jubileuszowy walc.

Many films of his production have been awarded on the film festivals in Poland and abroad.

Recently, he was awarded B. and J. Czecz prize for the best pictures for Żywot chruścika (Life of the Caddis) film on the 17th Włodzimierz Puchalski International Nature Film Festival 2017.
