A naturalist, photographer, filmmaker and audio engineer – graduated from natural science at the Agricultural Academy in Poznań (currently the Poznań University of Life Sciences) and from Cinematography Department at the Leon Schiller National Film, Television and Theatre School in Łódź. Therefore, he can pursue his passion in his professional work (for many years, he has been associated with the Forest Film Studio in Bedoń, near Łódź). For over thirty years, Tomasz Ogrodowczyk photographs and describes nature, captures her on a filmstrip and records her sounds. He was awarded numerous prizes and distinctions in over thirty photography and film competitions. The last picture by Tomasz and Michal Ogrodowczyk, realised for a period of over five years, titled “Wetlands Work Wonders!” has been awarded on the 17th Włodzimierz Puchalski International Nature Film Festival as the best educational film. He is an author of numerous nature sound albums, such as a series “Jaki to ptak” (What Bird Is It?), “Tajemnice Puszczy” (The Mysteries of the Forest), “Harmonia natury” (The Harmony of Nature), or “Zielone struny” (The Green Strings). He is also an originator and author of the republication of Włodzimierz Puchalski’s books (“Bloodless Hunt”, “Cormorant Island”, “Among Reeds and Waters” and “In the Land of the Swan”) with digitally processed photographs and stories in the form of radio plays. Summarising this series, he wrote a book titled “The ‘Werki’ of Włodzimierz Puchalski” in which he included, by then not published anywhere, numerous photographs of this author. Tomasz Ogrodowczyk had over twenty photographic exhibitions, including ten individual ones, and also around fifty author’s meetings and shows, and numerous publications.
