Tomasz Ogrodowczyk

Tomasz Ogrodowczyk summarizes the three years of his work with “Zielona Seria Włodzimierza Puchalskiego” (The Green Series of Włodzimierz Puchalski)

Włodzimierz Puchalski at work

During the lecture, Tomasz will give an account of a long process of recovering Włodzimierz Puchalski’s The Green Series. Thus, he will describe the three years of searching through negative films in the Niepołomice Museum, in order to choose the best ones for the photo albums. During that time, Tomasz was able to look through the archives and managed to recover almost all of the original negatives. The negatives were scanned and the files of the images were thoroughly digitally reconstructed, by removing the cracks and dust marks, and recovering missing parts of the images. Therefore, in a result of this long and laborious process, he managed to collect and exhibit the photographs of Włodzimierz Puchalski in perfect condition. The final outcome can be seen in the newly published books and during the exhibition held in Muzeum Podróżników (The Museum of Travellers).

Narratives, accompanying the photographs in each of the four parts of The Green Series, are no longer printed. In order to enhance the form of the albums, in this edition, the stories were recorded featuring famous polish actors, well known from the theatre and television. Sounds of nature, typical for the environment of the photographs, form the backgrounds of the stories. All the tracks recorded in MP3 format, are attached to the photo albums, on CDs. Włodzimierz Press performs the leading role in this play of Włodzimierz Puchalski, with a very accurate rendition. Anna Seniuk acts as his wife, Iza, combining female gentleness with hard work accompanying photographic profession during post-war era. Amongst other actors there were: Wiktor Zborowski, Jarosław Boberek, Grzegorz Pawlak, Stanisław Brudny, Emilia Krakowska, Marian Opania, Janusz Zadura, Henryk Gołębiewski, Paweł Ciołkosz, Marcin Kwaśny, Otar Saralidze and Anna Apostolakis, followed by marvellous children and amateurs. However, Tomasz will tell more about it during his lecture in Dwór Artusa on Sunday. He will be accompanied by special guests: Włodzimierz Puchalski’s daughter, Anna, and leading actor Włodzimierz Preiss. You are very welcome to join us!
