Michał Zygmunt – a guitarist and a music composer, fascinated by exploration of the old worlds. He collects individual notes and employs them in his compositions alongside guitars and other musical instruments. He willingly employs sampling of archives and, by its means, revives the ghosts of the past. An interesting characteristic of his output is an eclectic blend of the best features from different musical genres, “rustic” and “worldly”, eccentric and traditional. He is an author of 6 music albums that he has recorded both solo and in collaboration with outstanding musicians in the best recording studios. He is recognised by the audience in Poland as well as abroad. He has been collaborating with such celebrities as Jan Bang, Erik Honoré, Nils Petter Molvær, Roli Mosimann, Arve Henriksen. He is a co-author of Punkt Eklektik Session Festival where he combined two innovative European festivals and appeared in the Polish calendar of musical events. He is an originator of a series “Oder Guitars” – instruments made exclusively from trees growing on the Oder. He is an author of theatre music, film score, illustrative music, and radio plays. Awarded “Emotion 2015” prize granted by Radio Wrocław Culture in the music category for musical individuality and exploring new dimensions of music.
