About Festival

The first edition of ‘The Art of Nature Festival’ took place in 2008in Torun, Poland. The original idea was to create a non-profit event that would help to promote polish nature through photography. It consisted of exhibitions and slideshows of the famous polish nature photographers, contests for the best wildlife photographs and presentations made by young talents. The founder of ‘The Art of Nature Festival’, dr hab. Adam Adamski is also apresident of ‘The Natural Museum of Nicolas Copernicus University in Torun’ and a figure well known for polish nature lovers. Not only has hebeen a photographerfor more than twenty years, but also he has organizedmany exhibitions and festivals to educate young people about nature through photography and to promotewildlife photography in the polish media. As a result of a very warm welcome to the first edition of the Festival, drAdamski has decided to continue and develop the event formula by expanding its capacity, introducing new exhibitions and workshops, as well as inviting interesting guests from abroad. In the previous editions of the festival we were honoured to host presentations from StaffanWidstrand of Sweden, Sergey Gorshkov of Russia, Jaroslav Velička of Slovakia and Paolo Volponi of Italy.
