Józef Romasz

JÓZEF ROMASZ — born in 1958, in Oleck. Cameraman, screenwriter, director and documentary film producer. Dr hab. prof. at National Higher School of Film, Television and Theatre in Łódź.

As a director of photography, he has co-produced fiction films and series, including: Harnasie, director J. Schmidt; “Słoneczny zegar” (The Sundial), director A. Kondratiuk; “Miasto prywatne”, director J. Skalski; “Tulpan”, director S. Dworcewoj; “Gwiezdny pirat”, director J. Łukaszewicz. He has also produced dozens of documentaries, including “Był sobie Gdańsk”, director J. Sarnacki; “Komeda. A soundtrack for a life”, director C. Buthenhoff-Duffy; “Polin. Okruchy pamięci”, director J. Dylewska; “Żywot chruścika” (Life of a Caddisfly), director M. Zawadzka, Z. Bączyński; “Powrót z chaosu”, director A. Papuziński.

He is also the producer of authorial films, which hold a distinct and important place in his artistic output, including “Jak tańczy mój czas”, “Przystanek dla bocianów””, Dom Marka”, “Człowiek, który nie zaznał wielkiego świata”, “Krymskie źródło”.

Many of the films he worked on have been awarded on the film festivals in Poland and abroad.
