Dariusz Sarnowski – a photographer, journalist, nature lover. A member of Polish Jounalists Association and Polish Media Association. A co-founder and long-term director of the Silesian Department of the Polish Wildlife Photographers Association. Professionally connected with wildlife and hunting press. As an author of pictures, reportages and short stories, he used to cooperate with the majority of periodicals on Polish nature. A reporter, photo-editor, and then chief editor of the monthly Season Magazine. In the program “Natura” (Nature) emitted in TVP3 (a Polish TV channel), he edited and ran a show on wildlife photography. He was born and raised in Tychy, Upper Silesia. There, on the fringes of the ancient Pszczyna Forest, from an early age, his interest in nature developed. His two passions – exploration of the secrets of nature and photography – merged so much that their fusion was just a natural consequence. Photo camera has always been his companion; for many years as a working tool and later on, more and more often, as a means for the artistic expression of emotions and feelings associated with the beauty of nature. His works have been displayed in a dozen or so individual exhibitions and several dozen collective ones in Poland and abroad. He is a co-author of illustrated albums “Galeria Natury” (Gallery of Nature), “Łowiectwo” (Hunting), “Łowiectwo na Górnym Śląsku – Ziemia Pszczyńska” (Hunting in Upper Silesia – Pszczyna Land). Some years ago, invited to Bachotek to run photographic workshops for students from NCU, Toruń, he travelled to Brodnica Lake District and, enchanted by its surroundings, decided to settle down there.
